FAILCLOSE
A family of patent-pending governance technologies

When software is unsure, it should fail closed.

FAILCLOSE is the brand behind a set of control systems that make automated and AI-driven decisions accountable. They prove a decision before acting on it, govern every change to authoritative data, and re-verify every artifact before it leaves. When a check cannot be completed, the safe state is the default, not the exception.

The promise in the name

Deny by default. Every error path is closed.

Most systems fail open: when something breaks or a check is skipped, the action still goes through. FAILCLOSE technologies invert that. If authorization cannot be proven, a process is interrupted, or integrity cannot be confirmed, the system denies, rejects, rolls back, or escalates to a human. It never silently proceeds.

This single discipline is what lets these systems earn trust: they are designed to be safe even when their own components are not.

The technology

Three boundaries, one discipline.

Each is a standalone, separately filed, patent-pending system. Each enforces the fail-closed principle at a different point in the lifecycle of a decision.

Who it is for

Built for decisions where being wrong is expensive.

Wherever an automated or AI-driven decision carries real consequences, a fail-closed boundary turns "trust us" into "verify it."

Regulated and high-stakes operations

Finance, healthcare, legal, and compliance, where unauthorized or unprovable changes to records create real liability.

Consequential AI decisions

Hiring, lending, medical AI, content moderation, and autonomous systems, where an unverified model output should not act on its own.

Provable artifact integrity

Legal discovery, medical records, supply chain, and digital evidence, where what leaves must be provably identical to what was stored.
